Marshall, Mo., (March 24, 2026)- The No. 5 Missouri Valley College men's volleyball team hosted Health Science & Pharmacy (Mo.) for a Heart of America Athletic Conference match, Tuesday evening inside the Burns Athletic Complex.  The Vikings swept the Eutectics by scores of 29-27, 25-20, 25-23.

Game one started with Missouri Valley taking the opening three points, with a solo block from Senior Middle Blocker Arthur Martenelli (Curitiba, Brazil) and two kills from Freshman Outside Hitter Bart Mulder (Hoogeveen, Netherlands), 3-0.  The Vikings used a kill each from Martenelli, Mulder, and Junior Middle Blocker Joao Tavares (Parana, Brazil) to move ahead, 7-4.  Health Sciences and Pharmacy responded winning six-straight points to tie the game and eventually take the lead, 10-7.  Teams traded points through the next stretch of play, where Freshman Outside Hitter Loan Fargier (France) added three kills and Tavares had one kill, but UHSP continued to stay in front, 18-14.  Missouri Valley cut its deficit down, as Junior Outside Hitter Frederico Baptista (Esmoriz, Portugal) and Tavares teamed up on a block and landed a kill each,  Hasse added a kill, and Mulder put down two kills during the stretch to tie the game at 22-22.  A MVC error gave the Eutectics game-point, 25-24, but a kill from Mulder tied the game again at 25-25.  Missouri Valley then held game-point as Baptista had a kill, but UHSP extended the game winning the next to point to make it a 27-26 score.  However, the final three points of the game were won by Missouri Valley, as Baptista landed an ace and a kill, and a final solo block from Tavares ended the opener, 29-27.

The second game began with Health Sciences and Pharmacy building up an early lead, 6-1.  Two kills from Mulder and a kill from Tavares helped cut the gap down to 8-4. The two teams traded points through the next several points, which included three kills from Mulder, two kills from Hasse, and a kill each from Tavares and Fargier to cut the team's deficit to 14-10.  The Eutectics won the next three points, but Missouri Valley answered back with a run, using three UHSP errors, a kill from Hasse, who also teamed up with Tavares on a block, and an ace from Freshman Setter Leonardo Poiatti (Sao Paulo, Brazil) to tie the game at 17-17.  The teams traded points through a 20-20 score, but the Vikings put together another run, featuring two kills from Hasse, a kill from Martenelli, and ace from Junior Libero Thales Thomas, winning the final six-straight points to finish out game two, 25-20.  Missouri Valley held a 2-0 advantage in the match.

Needing a win to extend the match, Health Science and Pharmacy jumped in front at the start of game three, 5-2.  Missouri Valley responded, taking five of the next six points, as Hasse put down a solo block, and Freshman Outside Hitter Timothee Carpentier (Sao Paulo, Brazil) had a kill and an ace to move ahead, 7-6.  The Eutectics answered back, winning five-straight points to reclaim the lead, 11-7.  Six of the next seven points won by the Vikings included two kills from Junior Outside Hitter Pierro Porras (Lima, Peru) and three kills from Mulder, sending the team in front, 13-12.  Later in the game, the two teams exchanged points through a 19-19 score, featuring two kills from Hasse, and a kill apiece from Tavares, Carpentier, and Mulder.  The two teams traded points in the final stretch, Carpentier, Mulder,  and Fargier had a kill each to send MVC in front, 22-21.  Health Sciences and Pharmacy tied the game again at 22-22, but a kill from Tavares and a UHSP error put the Vikings at match-point.  The Eutectics won the next points, but a final kill from Hasse closed out a 25-23 win in game three, and gave Missouri Valley a sweep.
