Seneca, Mo., (Feb. 13, 2026)- The Missouri Valley College baseball team finished a non-conference series against Ecclesia (Ark.) with a doubleheader in Seneca, Mo., Saturday afternoon. The Vikings dropped both games of the doubleheader.
Missouri Valley fell in the opener by a final score of 16-1, then lost in the second game of the day, 6-1.
In game one, Junior Third Baseman Tyler Witt (O'Fallon, Mo.) had two hits, while Sophomore First Baseman Wyatt Kemper (St. Genevieve, Mo.) added one hit and one run scored. Freshman Pitcher J.R. Reed (Fort Worth, Texas) pitched two innings in relief, givitgn up three hits and three earned runs with two strikeouts.
In game two, Sophomore Shortstop Devin Nortwood (Pearl, Miss.) led with two hits and one run scored. Junior Designated Hitter Masayoshi Hattori (Tokyo, Japan), Senior Right Fielder Colton Campbell (Aledo, Texas) and Junior Catcher Josh Hudson (Kansas City, Mo.) all had one hit apiece. Freshman Pitcher Colton Myers (Orangefield, Texas) went 3.2 innings, giving up three hits and four earned runs with two strikeouts.
The pair of losses drop the team to 0-8 on the season, while Ecclesia improves to 10-2.
Up next, the Viking baseball team will host St. Xavier (Ill.) in a series, beginning with a doubleheader, Feb. 21, at 12 p.m.
