No. 10 Women's Wrestling Defeats William Woods in Road Dual

Fulton, Mo., (Feb. 10, 2026)- The Missouri Valley College men's and women's wrestling traveled to Fulton, Mo., for a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual doubleheader, Tuesday evening. The No. 10 women's team won nine of the ten weight classes, including three victories by pin to defeat William Woods (Mo.). 

Women's Results:

103 pounds: William Woods left the weight class open.  Freshman Janessa Avila (St. Clair, Mo.) won by forfeit.  Missouri Valley leads, 5-0.

110 pounds: William Woods left the weight class open.  Sophomore Ilsen Ventura (Fate, Texas) won by forfeit.  Missouri Valley leads, 10-0.

117 pounds: Sophomore Sara Pineda (Perris, Calif.) defeated Candace Calvert in a first period (1:09) pin.  Missouri Valley leads, 15-0.

124 pounds: William Woods left the weight class open.  No. 14 Sophomore Isla Baeza (Orem, Utah) won by forfeit.  Missouri Valley leads, 20-0.

131 pounds: Junior Chase Kiel (Kansas City, Mo.) defeated Katie Bowen in a first period (1:56) pin.  Missouri Valley leads, 25-0.

138 pounds: Sophomore Toby Goertz (Wildwood, Mo.) lost to No. 8 Teani Medeiros-Maielua in a first period (1:56) pin.  Missouri Valley leads, 25-5.

145 pounds: Senior Brooke-Lynn Rush (St. Joseph, Mo.) defeated Gretchen Marriott in a first period (1:49) pin.  Missouri Valley leads, 30-5.

160 pounds: No. 15 Junior Maria Slaughter (Wentzville, Mo.) defeated Addyson Pasley in a 12-2 technical fall.  Missouri Valley leads, 34-6.

180 pounds: William Woods left the weight class open.  Sophomore Audree Willess (Rockwall, Texas) won by forfeit.  Missouri Valley leads, 39-5.

207 pounds: Junior Hollie Hedgpeth (Cameron, Mo.) defeated Brooklyn Jackman in a 10-0 technical fall. 

Missouri Valley defeated William Woods 43-6.  

Extra:

110: Ventura lost to Candace Calvert in a first period (2:10) pin.

The Vikings improve to 6-4 on the season in duals, while William Woods drops to 1-6 in duals.

Up next, the women's wrestling team will host Missouri Baptist for Senior Night in a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual, tomorrow, Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., inside Burns Athletic Complex.  The men's team travels to Oskaloosa, Iowa to compete at the Heart Championship, Feb. 20-21.
