No. 8 Women's Wrestling Tops William Woods on Senior Night

Marshall, Mo. (Feb. 11, 2025)- The No. 8 Missouri Valley College women's wrestling team hosted William Woods (Mo.) in its final Heart of America Athletic Conference dual of the regular season, on Senior Night. The Vikings won seven weight classes, including three victories by pin to earn a 31-5 victory.

 

103 pounds: Both teams left the weight class open.

110 pounds: Both teams left the weight class open.

117 pounds: No. 8 Senior Hailey Holland (San Bernardino, Calif.) defeated Sophia McLain in a first period (0:29) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 5-0.

124 pounds: Freshman Isla Baeza (Orem, Utah) defeated Amaiya McClinton in a first period (0:49) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 10-0.

131 pounds: No. 9 Senior Ashley Whetzal (Virginia Beach, Va.) defeated Teani Medeiros-Maielua in a first period (1:12) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 15-0.

138 pounds: No. 3 Freshman Xochitl Mota-Pettis (Humble, Texas) defeated Skylon Boone in a 10-0 technical fall. Missouri Valley leads, 19-0.

145 pounds: No. 11 Freshman Sevi Aumua (Grain Valley, Mo.) defeated Gretchen Marriott in a 10-0 technical fall. Missouri Valley leads, 23-0.

160 pounds: Senior Aniseta Acosta (Sacramento, Calif.) defeated Addy Paslet in a 10-0 technical fall. Missouri Valley leads, 27-0.

180 pounds: Senior Elizabeth Hubbard (Azle, Texas) lost to Abby Piper in a first period (2:11) pin. Missouri Valley leads, 27-5.

207 pounds: No. 5 Senior Kelani Corbett (Wahiawa, Hawaii) defeated Mariyah Brumley in a 12-0 technical fall.

Missouri Valley defeats William Woods, 31-5.

 

Up next, the Viking women's wrestling team will compete at Baker Open, on Feb. 15 in Baldwin City, Kan.
