Fulton, Mo., (Sept. 24, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College women's volleyball team traveled to Fulton, Mo., and played Haskell (Kan.) in a non-conference match Wednesday evening.  The contest went to four games, and the Vikings finished out a 25-14, 19-25, 25-13, 25-20 win.

Missouri Valley jumped in front early in the first game, taking five of the opening six points.  Sophomore Setter Kellen Fitzgerald (Frisco, Texas) put down an ace and added a kill.  Sophomore Outside Hitter Olivia Randolph (Columbia, Mo.) and Senior Middle Hitter Kinga Romanowicz (Krepiec, Poland) both landed one kill and the team held a 5-1 lead.  The Vikings gradually added to their lead, helped by a block from Junior Middle Hitter Stacy Maimur (Chicago, Ill.) and Freshman Outside Hitter Rylee Adams (Odessa, Mo.), with Adams then putting down two kills.  One kill from Junior Outside Hitter Laura Tavares (Merida, Venezuela) and another kill from Maimur made it a 12-4 score.  Haskell worked back into the game, eventually cutting its deficit to 14-9.  Missouri Valley responded with a run, as Senior Outside Hitter Juliana Oliveira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) landed an ace, while Adams, Romanowicz and Randolph each finished off one kill to help the team win five of six points and sit on top, 21-10.  Tavares added two late kills to move MVC to game-point, and Oliveira put down the final kill to win the game, 25-14.  The Vikings finished with a match-high .441 hitting percentage.

Game two started with Haskell going ahead early, out to a 6-3 score.  Two-straight Maimur kills helped Missouri Valley tie the game at 6-6, but Haskell followed by winning six of the next seven points to pull in front, 12-7.  The Vikings eventually sat in a 16-8 deficit, then trailed 18-10.  Randolph had two kills over the next stretch to go with one kill from both Adams and Maimur as the deficit shrank to 20-16, following a block from Maimur and Tavares.  Haskell maintained a lead throughout the rest of the game, and won by a 25-19 score to tie the teams at 1-1 in the match.

The two teams traded points at the start of the third game, which included a block from Oliveira and Romanowicz to go with two kills from Randolph, but Haskell moved in front, 5-4.  The Vikings responded with a run, taking seven-straight points.  Adams had two aces and a kill during the stretch, while Maimur teamed up with Oliveira and Taveres on two blocks, as MVC pulled ahead, 11-5.  Missouri Valley extended the lead after winning four of five points, which included two aces by Freshman Defensive Specialist Morgan Smith (Kaufman, Texas) and one kill apiece from Oliveira and Tavares, as the score sat at 15-6.  Three-straight points later in the game, from one kill apiece by Randolph, Oliveira and Fitzgerald, pushed the advantage to double-digits, 19-9.  Maimur had two late kills, while Oliveira added one kill to make it game-point.  Tavares capped the third game with a final kill, and MVC won, 25-13, to claim a 2-1 lead in the match.

Haskell went in front early in the fourth game, winning three of the opening four points.  Missouri Valley responded and used one kill from Randolph to help move the team ahead, 4-3.  The Vikings won four of five points on one kill apiece from Maimur, Tavares and Adams, along with an ace by Senior Setter Avery Crain (Shell Knob, Mo.) to help the team hold an 8-4 lead.  The two teams traded points over a long stretch of play in the game, but Haskell eventually tied the score at 14-14.  The two teams played even until late in the game when an ace from Oliveira allowed MVC to take a 20-17 lead.  Adams had the next Viking point with a kill, while Senior Libero Ana Franco (Cascais, Portugal) followed with an ace and the pair of Maimur and Randolph recorded a block to make it a 23-18 score.  Adams brought match point with a kill, then Adams ended the contest with another kill to close a 25-20 win in the game, and a 3-1 victory in the match.
