Track and Field Produces Five Medalists at Heart Outdoor Championships
Cedar Rapids, Iowa, (May 2, 2026)- The Missouri Valley College track and field teams competed at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Friday and Saturday. The women's team was led by four Vikings that placed in the top three in their respective event. The men's team was led by Freshman Luke Mosley (Jefferson City, Mo.), who placed third in the pole vault. Six Vikings earned Heart All-Conference status.
Women's Results:
Freshman Johanna Watkins (Wentzville, Mo.): placed third in the high jump with a height of 1.57 meters. Watkins earned Heart Third Team All-Conference honors.
Senior Kali Brown (Smithville, Mo.): placed third in the discus throw with a distance of 42.00 meters, and placed fifth in the hammer throw with a distance of 45.82 meters. Brown earned Heart Third Team All-Conference honors.
Junior Jozelynn Bostick (Centralia, Mo.): placed third in the 3000 meter steeplechase in a time of 11:34.64, and placed 17th in the 5000 meter run in a time of 20:04.89. Bostick earned Heart Third Team All-Conference honors.
Freshman Nyla Adams (St. Louis, Mo.): competed in the heptathlon and placed third overall. She placed first in the long jump with a distance of 5.15 meters, finished second in the javelin with a throw of 26.55 meters, and placed second in the shot put with a distance of 9.55 meters. She also placed fourth in the high jump with a height of 1.42 meters, placed fourth in the 100 meter hurdles in a time of 17:06, placed fifth in the 200 meter dash in a time of 28.79, and placed fifth in the 800 meter run in a time of 3:00.90. Adams also placed ninth in the triple jump with a distance of 10.77 meters, and placed 15th in the regular long jump with a distance of 4.84 meters. Adams earned Heart Third Team All-Conference honors.
Freshman Eniola Candice Alabi (Austin, Texas): placed ninth in the 400 meter dash in a time of 59.74, placed 10th in the 200 meter dash prelims in a time of 25.85, and placed 11th in the 100 meter dash prelims in a time of 12.79.
Senior Federica Gammarota (Foggia, Italy): placed 11th in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:07.31, and placed 17th in the 100 meter hurdles prelims in a time of 17.00.
Sophomore Brynna Wentland (Higginsville, Mo.): placed 22nd in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:46.11.
Sophomore Jaedyn Smith (Taveres, Fla.): placed 24th in the discus with a throw of 28.50 meters, and placed 24th in the shot put with a distance of 9.02 meters.
The 4x400 Relay Team 'A' (Bostick, Alabi, Wenland Gammarota) placed 10th with a time of 4:28.78.
Men's Results:
Freshman Luke Mosley (Jefferson City, Mo.): placed third in the pole vault with a jump of 4.35 meters. Mosley earned Heart Third Team All-Conference honors.
Sophomore Silas Morton (Strafford, Mo.): placed fourth in the javelin throw with a distance of 53.08. Morton earned Heart Honorable Mention All-Conference honors.
Sophomore Montique Griffiths (Maypen, Jamaica): placed seventh in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 54.58.
Sophomore Joseph James (Excelsior Springs, Mo.): placed seventh in the 110 meter hurdles prelims in a time of 14.99, and placed seventh in the event final in a time of 15.21.
Freshman Hudson Drydale (Blue Springs, Mo.): placed ninth in the long jump with a distance of 6.51 meters.
Junior Terril Davis (Lamar, Mo.): placed ninth in the triple jump with a distance of 12.69 meters, and placed 17th in the long jump with a distance of 6.13 meters.
Freshman Asah Bailey (Kingston, Jamaica): placed 15th in the 200 meter dash prelims in a time of 22.20, and placed 20th in the 100 meter dash prelims in a time of 10.99.
Freshman Adrian Miles, Jr. (Biloxi, Miss.): placed 12th in the shot put with a distance of 13:43 meters, placed 16th in the discus throw with a distance of 39.20 meters, placed 16th in the javelin with a throw of 37.73 meters.
Sophomore Steven Mills (Kansas City, Mo.): placed 16th in the 200 meter dash prelims with a time of 22.27.
Junior Daytona Blaine (Shelbina, Mo.): placed 17th in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:58.95.
Xavier Adams: placed 18th in the long jump with a distance of 6.13 meters.
Freshman Jacob Wade (Jefferson City, Mo.): placed 18th in the javelin throw with a distance of 30.98 meters.
Freshman Grant Supinski (Kenwood, Ohio): placed 19th in the hammer throw with a distance of 41.02 meters.
Freshman Gavin Beals (Centralia, Ill.): placed 19th in the shot put with a distance of 12.52 meters.
Freshman Daniel Menefee (Ellisville, Mo.): placed 20th in the 1500 meter run in a time of 4:19.55.
The 4x100 Relay Team 'A' (Adams, Bailey, Griffiths, Mills) placed ninth with a time of 42.71.
The 4x400 Relay Team 'A' (Griffiths, Bailey, Mills, Anderson) placed 11th with a time of 3:24.70.
The women's team finished ninth with 28 points, and the men's team placed at No. 12 in the standings with 15 points.
