Marshall, Mo., (Oct. 15, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College men's and women's soccer teams welcomed in MidAmerica Nazarene for a Heart of America Athletic Conference doubleheader Wednesday evening inside Volney C. Ashford Stadium.  The No. 5 women's team played No. 19 MidAmerica Nazarene to a 0-0 tie.  The men's team fell to the No. 2 Pioneers.

Both teams opened the women's game by trading possession early.  The first shot on goal came with just over 13-minutes off the clock, as an attempt from Senior Forward Ashley Arribas (Lake Forest, Calif.) was saved off the goal line by a Pioneer defender.  The ensuing corner kick resulted in a header from Senior Defender Marta Carrasco Mesa (Sevilla, Spain) which was also saved off the goal line by a defender to keep the contest scoreless.  Just over two minutes later, Senior Defender Daijah White (Tucson, Ariz.) tested the MNU keeper with a shot on goal, which was saved.  MidAmerica Nazarene had its first opportunity moments later, as a corner kick hit off the post and away from goal.  The first save of the game for Senior Goalkeeper Marina Barbara Bujalance (Cornella Llobregat, Spain) came midway through the half, and MVC countered with another shot on goal two minutes later, from Arribas, which was saved.  The Vikings continued to test the Pioneer keeper over the next stretch, putting another three shots on goal through the 37-minute mark, but the two attempts from Carrasco Mesa and another shot by Senior Defender Zoe Christofaro (Tucson, Ariz.) were all saved.  MidAmerica Nazarene created one more opportunity late in the half, with Barbara Buajalance making another save, as the teams went into halftime scoreless.

Play in the second half started with the Pioneers holding the better of possession, and putting a shot on goal with two minutes off the clock.  Barbara Bujalance came up with a save, and ten minutes later kept another MNU shot out of goal.  The first quality chance for Missouri Valley came near the 69-minute mark, as a shot from Senior Defender Ana Rendon (Medellin, Colombia) was saved.  MidAmerica Nazarene built up pressure ten minutes later, and got off another shot, which was saved by Barbara Bujalance.  Senior Forward Silvia Maldonado (Madrid, Spain) had two late attempts on goal, both saved, and the teams played out the final minutes to finish tied at 0-0.
