STUNT Splits Friday Contests
St. Louis, Mo., (March 22, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College STUNT team competed twice Friday evening in St. Louis, Mo. The Vikings opened with a 9-0 win over Southwest Baptist, but fell to Missouri Baptist.
In the win over Southwest Baptist, Missouri Valley opened with two points scored in the first quarter, which focuses on partner stunts. Quarter two, focusing on pyramids and baskets ended with Missouri Valley winning one point, while the Vikings added another two points in the third quarter of jumps and tumbling. The final quarter focused on both partner stunts and pyramids and baskets, with MVC earning another four points to finish out the 9-0 victory.
Leading the team were three Vikings that were featured in all nine points earned. Freshman India Trimble (Falmouth, Ky.), Freshman Parker Hoobler (Boulder, Colo.) and Freshman Chloeane Vico (Miami, Fla.) each produced in all nine points. Freshman Jaedyn Butler (Kanakee, Ill.) was featured in eight of the points earned.
The Vikings fell in the second game of the day, to Missouri Baptist, by a 20-0 score.
The split moves Missouri Valley to 2-4 on the season.
The team will continue competition in St. Louis, Mo., with two more games Saturday. The Vikings are in contests with Central Methodist (Mo.) at 2 p.m., and Maryville (Mo.) at 3 p.m.
