Cross Country Produces Top Ten Finishers at Mike Spielman Classic
Baldwin City, Kan., (Oct. 17, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College cross country teams continued their seasons at the Mike Spielman Classic in Baldwin City, Kan., Friday evening. The men's team produced a pair of top ten finishers.
Leading the men's team in the 8k race was Freshman Daniel Menefee (Ellisville, Mo.), who finished sixth overall with a time of 28:15, followed by Junior Daytona Blaine (Shelbina, Mo.) in tenth place with a time of 28:57. Sophomore Evans Kiptoo (Eldoret, Kenya) followed at No. 28 in a time of 32:26. Senior DeRel Morris (Orlando, Fla.) finished in a time of 35:09 to place at No. 35 and Freshman Angel Campos (Pharr, Texas) was the final team scorer, coming in at No. 36 with a time of 35:51. Freshman Bristol Sheetz (Winston, Mo.) finished at No. 38 with a time of 37:00 and Senior Angel Lopez (Los Fresnos, Texas) posted a time of 44:03 to place at No. 42.
On the women's side, Sophomore Brynna Wentland (Higginsville, Mo.) was the only competitor for the team, finishing the 6k race in a time of 32:48 to place at No. 21 overall.
The men's team placed fifth in the standings with a total score of 111 points. Baker (Kan.) won the event with 37 points. The Viking women's team did not have a score, with Baker also winning the women's event totaling 20 points.
