Cross Country Competes at Larry Young Invitational

Columbia, Mo., (Sept. 12, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College cross country teams continued their seasons at the Larry Young Invitational in Columbia, Mo., competing against NAIA and NCAA Division II programs.

Freshman Daniel Menefee (Ellisville, Mo.) led the men's team with a time of 29:01 in the 8k race to place at No. 64.  Junior Daytona Blaine (Shelbina, Mo.) followed at No. 100 with a time of 32:57,  Sophomore Evans Kiptoo (Eldoret, Kenya) placed at No. 104 in a time of 33:28 and Freshman Bristol Sheetz (Winston, Mo.) placed at No. 117 in a time of 36:41.   Junior Angel Lopez (Los Fresnos, Texas) finished at No. 123 in a time of 46.08.

The women's team was led by Sophomore Faraja Nyasa (Kansas City, Mo.) with a time of 26:59 in the 5k race to finish at No. 90 overall. Freshman Angelica Mancilla (Marshall, Mo.) placed at No. 106 with a time of 37:17.

The men's team finished tenth in the standings with 287 points.

Up next, the Viking cross country teams will compete at the Seminole Valley Stampede, Oct. 4 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
