Cross Country Competes at Mark Spielman Invite

Marshall, Mo., (Oct. 17, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College cross country teams competed at the Mark Spielman Invite in Baldwin City, Kan., Friday evening.

The men's team was led by Freshman Evans Kiptoo (Eldoret, Kenya) who finished at No. 24 in a time of 29:56 in the 8k race.  Junior DeRel Morris (Brooklyn, N.Y.) followed at No. 33 in a time of 31:31, and Freshman Dante Gordon (St. Catherine, Jamaica) came in at No. 44 in a time of 42:11.  

On the women's team, Freshman Brynna Wentland (Higginsville, Mo.) finished with a time of 31:25 to place at No. 36 overall.  Freshman Shaliah Mckoy (Kingston, Jamaica) followed at No. 41 with a time of 41:19.

Next up for the cross country teams is the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship, Nov. 9, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
