No. 10 Men's Wrestling Tops No. 15 Central Methodist in Senior Night Dual

Marshall, Mo., (Feb. 5, 2026)- The No. 10 Missouri Valley College men's wrestling team hosted No. 15 Central Methodist (Mo.) in a Senior Night and Heart of America Athletic Conference dual, Thursday evening inside the Burns Athletic Complex.  The Vikings won five weight classes, including two victories by pin, to defeat the Eagles, 24-20.

125 pounds: No. 4 Junior Haden Hernandez (Huntington Beach, Calif.) won by forfeit.  Missouri Valley leads, 6-0.

133 pounds: No. 11 Sophomore Tuvshinjargal Zuunbayan (Arlington Heights, Ill.) defeated Gavin Alexander in a 6-2 decision.  Missouri Valley leads, 9-0.

141 pounds: Junior Ryker Smith (Kansas City, Mo.) lost to No. 19 Arojae Hart in a 19-4 technical fall.  Missouri Valley leads, 9-5.

149 pounds: No. 15 Junior Kristofer Arrey (Riverside, Calif.) defeated Alex Walker in a 6-0 decision.  Missouri Valley leads, 12-5

157 pounds: Junior Lloyd Epperson (Comanche, Okla.) lost to Drake Jenkins in a 5-1 decision.  Missouri Valley leads, 12-8.

165 pounds: No. 13 Senior Dayton Hill (Broken Arrow, Okla.) lost to No. 16 Kevin Olavarria in a 7-6 decision.  missouri Valley leads, 12-11

174 pounds: Sophomore Brayden Shelton (Centralia, Mo.) defeated Brayden Forman in a first period (1:50) pin.  Missouri Valley leads, 18-11.

184 pounds: Freshman Luke Sarich (Weiser, Idaho) defeated Griffin Ray in a third period (5:12) pin.  Missouri Valley leads, 24-11.

197 pounds: Junior Emmanuel Ayi-Bonte (Woodbridge, Va.) lost to No. 18 Cameron Cornman in a third period (5:22) pin.  Missouri Valley leads, 24-17.

285 pounds: Junior Abraham Preston (Wetpumka, Ala.) lost to No. 17 Garine Gibson in a 9-0 major decision.  Central Methodist had its team points reduced by one due to an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

Missouri Valley defeated Central Methodist, 24-20.

Missouri Valley improves to 15-3 on the season, while Central Methodist drops to 6-9 in duals.

Up next, the Viking men's wrestling team will host the annual Missouri Valley Open, Saturday beginning at 9 a.m., inside the Burns Athletic Complex.
