No. 13 Men's Wrestling Tops Benedictine in Road Dual

Atchison, Kan., (Jan. 19, 2026)- The No. 13 Missouri Valley College men's wrestling team traveled to Atchison, Kan., for a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual against Benedictine (Kan.).  The Vikings won nine of the weight classes to earn a 47-5 victory.

 

125 pounds: No. 16 Junior Robert Albert (Cape Coral, Fla.) defeated Brock Sutton in a first period (1:11) pin.  Missouri Valley leads, 6-0.

133 pounds: No. 15 Freshman Tuvshinjargal Zuunbayan won by forfeit.  Missouri Valley leads, 12-0.

141 pounds: Sophomore Armente (Bellflower, Calif.) lost to Caleb Peralta in an 18-3 technical fall.  Missouri Valley leads, 12-5.

149 pounds: Junior Kristofer Arrey (Riverside, Calif.) defeated Mason Scholz in a 9-3 decision.  Missouri Valley leads, 15-5.

157 pounds: Junior Loyd Epperson (Comanche, Okla.) defeated Christian Ramos in a 5-4 decision.  Missouri Valley leads, 18-5.

165 pounds: Junior Olson Anderson (Orting, Wash.) defeated Sam Chacon in a first period (2:31) pin.  Missouri Valley leads, 24-5.

174 pounds: Sophomore Braelen Toles (Reno, Nev.) defeated Rance Ridley in a second period (3:48) pin.  Missouri Valley leads, 30-5.

184 pounds: Freshman Luke Sarich (Weiser, Idaho) defeated Bricen Lee in a 22-7 technical fall.  Missouri Valley leads, 35-5.

197 pounds: Junior Emmanuel Ayi-Bonte (Woodbridge, Va.) defeated Jackson Sweetman in a second period (3:34) pin.  Missouri Valley leads, 41-5.

285 pounds: Junior Abe Preston (Wetumpka, Ala.) defeated Jefferson Otter in a third period (6:58) pin.

Missouri Valley defeated Benedictine, 47-5.

 

Missouri Valley improves to 13-3 on the season in duals.

 

Up next, the Viking men's wrestling team will host the Missouri Valley Invitational, taking place throughout the day both Friday and Saturday inside the Burns Athletic Complex.  The tournament features the majority of the top 25 teams in the NAIA.
