No. 13 Men's Wrestling Suffers Road Dual Loss to No. 1 Grand View

Des Moines, Iowa, (Jan. 15, 2026)- The Missouri Valley College men's and women's wrestling traveled to Des Moines, Iowa, for a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual doubleheader, Thursday evening. The No. 10 women's team won three matchups, but fell to No. 2 Grand View, 34-15. The No. 13 men's team fell to No. 1 Grand View.

Men's Results:

125 pounds: No. 16 Junior Robert Albert (Cape Coral, Fla.) lost to No. 2 Elijah Cater in an 8-0 major decision.  Grand View leads, 4-0.

133 pounds:  No. 12 Freshman Aiden Serrano (Indianola, Iowa) lost to No. 2 Gabe Gonzales in a 21-3 technical fall.  Grand View leads, 9-0.

141 pounds: Junior Blaine Ortiz (Pineville, Mo.) lost to Luke Fogleman in a 10-1 major decision.  Grand View leads, 13-0.

149 pounds: Junior Kristofer Arrey (Riverside, Calif.) lost to Reese Courtney in a 5-0 decision.  Grand View leads, 16-0.

157 pounds: Junior Rich Hart (Perkins, Okla.) lost to No. 5 Bryce Boumans in a 19-4 technical fall.  Grand View leads, 21-0.

165 pounds: No. 10 Senior Francis Morrissey (Warner Robins, Ga.) lost to No. 15 Dylan Whitt in an 11-5 decision.  Grand View leads, 24-0.

174 pounds: Sophomore Braelen Toles (Reno, Nev.) lost to No. 2 Kristopher Ketchum in a second period (3:38) pin.  Grand View leads, 30-0.

184 pounds: Freshman Luke Sarich (Weiser, Idaho) lost to Tommy Even in a 10-5 decision.  Grand View leads, 33-0.

197 pounds: No. 3 Senior Elijah Hynes (Broken Arrow, Okla.) lost to No. 1 Garavous Kouekabakilaho in a 6-2 decision.  Grand View leads, 36-0.

285 pounds: No. 16 Senior Randy Gonzalez (Lakewood, Calif.) lost to No. 7 Shane Cook in a 17-2 technical fall.

Grand View defeated Missouri Valley, 41-0.  The Vikings drop to 12-3 on the season in duals.

Up next, the women's wrestling team competes at the York (Neb.) Open in York, Neb., Saturday.  The men's team travels to Atchison, Kan., for a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual with Benedictine (Kan.), Jan. 19.
