Track and Field Teams Compete at Show-Me Showdown
Columbia, Mo., (Jan. 16, 2026)- The Missouri Valley College men's and women's track and field teams opened their indoor seasons Friday, competing at the Show-Me Showdown in Columbia, Mo., hosted by Mizzou (Mo.). The men's team was led by Freshman Xavier Adams, who placed seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 13.10 meters. Leading the women's team was Freshman Kali Brown, who placed seventh in the weight throw with a distance of 14.67 meters.
Men's Results:
Freshman Xavier Adams: placed seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 13.10 meters.
Sophomore Montique Griffiths (May Pen, Jamaica): placed eighth in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.74.
Sophomore Joseph James (Excelsior Springs, Mo.): placed ninth in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.88. He also finished 36th in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.45, and No. 40 in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.29.
Freshman Daniel Menefee: placed No. 10 in the one mile run with a time of 4:41.27.
Junior Daytona Blaine (Shelbina, Mo.): placed No. 12 in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:04.06.
Freshman Bristol Sheetz: placed No. 12 in the one mile run with a time of 5:32.45.
Freshman Grant Supinski: placed No. 12 in the weight throw with a distance of 12.85 meters. He also finished 13th in the shot put with a distance of 11.96 meters.
Freshman Adrian Miles, Jr.: placed No. 14 in weight throw with a distance of 11.70 meters. He also finished 14th in the shot put with a distance of 11.79 meters.
Sophomore Steven Mills (Kansas City, Kan.): placed No. 18 in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.21. He also finished 23rd in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.65.
Freshman Jacob Wade: placed No. 17 in the shot put with a distance of 10.08 meters.
Freshman Asah Bailey: placed No. 22 in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.27.
Sophomore Harrison James (Independence, Mo.): placed No. 28 in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.33. He also finished 34th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.58.
The 4x400 Meter Relay team (Mills, Griffiths, H. James, Sophomore Amardeep Basra (Houston, Texas)) placed No. 11 with a final time of 3:34.37.
Women's Results:
Freshman Kali Brown: placed seventh in the weight throw with a distance of 14.67 meters.
Sophomore Jaedyn Smith: placed No. 17 in the shot put with a distance of 8.73 meters.
Sophomore Emily Doleberry: placed No. 18 in the high jump with a height of 1.47 meters.
Freshman Eniola Candice Alabi: placed No. 23 in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.48. She also finished 24th in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.13.
Senior Federica Gammarota (Foggia, Italy): placed No. 26 in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 10.63. She also finished 40th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.56.
Sophomore Brynna Wentland (Higginsville, Mo.): placed No. 30 in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:16.38.
Up next, the Viking track and field teams will travel to Pittsburg, Kan., to compete at the NAIA/JUCO Challenge, Jan. 24.
