Golf Teams Produce Runner-Up Finishers at William Woods Fall Invite

Fulton, Mo., (Sept. 30, 2025)- The Missouri Valley College men's and women's golf teams competed at the William Woods (Mo.) Fall Invitational at Tanglewood Golf Course.

 

Leading the men's "A" team was Senior Chad Coburn (Bloemfontein, South Africa) who finished second overall with a two-round score of -9 (135) one shot back of first place.  Coburn opened with a -1 (71) in the first round, and followed with the lowest score of anyone in a single round, totaling a -8 (64) in the second round.  Sophomore Brad Storrer (Harare, Zimbabwe) followed in ninth with a final score of -4 (140), which included a -6 (66) in the second round.  Junior Leo Burger (Johannesburg, South Africa) and Freshman Felipe Suarez (Cordoba, Argentina) both came in at No. 34 with a total of +3 (147).  Suarez had a -1 (71) in the second round.  Junior Valentin Bosdari (Mendoza, Argentina) added a +8 (152) to finish at No. 54.

 

Leading the "B" team was Senior Dominic Hoskin (Witham, England), who placed at No. 15 overall with a final score of -2 (142), which included a -4 (68) in the second round.  Freshman Rodrigo Bowen Martinez Casado (Gijon, Spain) and Senior Nelius De Jager (Upington, England) both finished at No. 26 with a +1 (145).  De Jager shot a -1 (71) in the second round.  Senior Patrick Hauschildt (Hamburg, Germany) was the final team scorer with a +4 (148) to place at No. 41, after finishing with a -1 (71) in the second round.  Also, Sophomore Nolan Gordon (Salisbury, Mo.) came in at No. 48 with a +7 (151).

 

The Viking "A" team finished second overall, with a final score of -8 (568), 21 strokes behind No. 12 William Woods (Mo.).  The "A" team finished the tournament with a -14 (274) in the second round.  The "B" team placed eight with a final score of +3 (579) after totaling a -5 (283) in the second round.

 

The women's team was led by Junior Hanna Rieker (Munich, Germany), who finished in a tie for second place with a +3 (147), one stroke behind the individual champion.  Rieker shot an even-par (72) in the second round, tied for the lowest score of the tournament.  Sophomore Sydney Righter (Camdenton, Mo.) followed at No. 16 with a +21 (165), while Senior Kali Brown (Smithville, Mo.) was No. 21 with a +27 (171).  Senior Madison Mills (Willard, Mo.) finished out the team scorers with a +35 (179) to place at No. 26 and Junior Jalynn Allen (Lebanon, Mo.) had a +53 (197) to place at No. 37.

 

The Vikings placed fourth overall with a final score of +86 (662).  Columbia (Mo.) won the tournament with a +42 (618).

 

Up next, the men's golf team will compete at the MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) Fall Invitational at Terradyne Country Club in Andover, Kan., Oct. 13-14.  Both teams will also compete at the Heart Conference Preview at Paradise Point in Smithville, Mo., Oct. 20-21.
