Men's Golf Competes at Memphis Shootout
Memphis, Tenn., (Oct. 8, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College men's golf team competed at the Memphis Shootout at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tenn. The Vikings finished sixth overall as a team.
Leading the team was Junior Chad Coburn (Bloemfontein, South Africa), who finished with a three-round score of +16 (232), to place at No. 22. Freshman Brad Storrer (Harare, Zimbabwe) and Senior Joaquin Calderon (Quito, Ecuador) followed, both at No. 37 overall with scores of +21 (237) in their three rounds of play. Freshman Landin Neill (Smithville, Mo.) rounded the team scorers with a +22 (238), and Sophomore Valentin Bosdari (Mendoza, Argentina) had a score of +24 (240) to place at No. 41.
As a team, the Vikings finished sixth in the standings with a total score of +64 (935). No. 18 Oklahoma City won the tournament with a +24 (888), followed by No. 9 Marian (Ind.) in second place with a +28 (892).
Up next, the men's golf team will compete at the Heart Preview, Oct. 21-22 at the Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate in Overland Park, Kan. The women's team competes at the TPC Deere Run Invitational at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill., Oct. 14-15.
