Esports Rocket League & Marvel Rivals Both Earn Victories Through the Week

Marshall, Mo., (March 5, 2026)- The Missouri Valley College Esports programs competed throughout the week.  The Rocket League program won three contests, and the Marvel Rivals team also earned a victory in its competition.  

In Rocket League, the team competed twice in the NECC. The varsity team defeated St. Ambrose (Iowa) in a best-of-seven series, by scores of 4-3, 1-4, 4-3, 3-5, 2-3, 3-2, 2-1.  Senior Dominic Hoskin (Witham, England) led with nine goals and six assists, while Junior Lucas Evans (Newcastle, England) had six goals and two assists, and Sophomore Quentin Revillard (Lyon, France) added four goals and six assists.  

Also in Rocket League, Missouri Valley swept Central Methodist (Mo.) in a best-of-seven series by scores of 4-0, 3-2, 5-4, 3-0.  Leading the Vikings was Hoskin, who had eight goals and four assists.  Evans followed with six goals and two assists, while Revillard added one goal and seven assists.  The Vikings improved to 5-1 in NECC competition, and next up is a match against Carthage (Wis.), March 18 at 7 p.m.  The team will also finish the regular season in the Heart of America Athletic Conference on March 19, with contests against Graceland (Iowa) at 7 p.m., and Culver-Stockton (Mo.) 8:30 p.m.

In NECC competition, the VR Rocket league team defeated University of Alabama Huntsville in a best-of-seven series by scores of 3-1. 4-2, 0-2, 4-0, 3-0.  Freshman Chase Schlossenberg (Kansas City, Mo.) led with eight goals and four assists.  Freshman Diego Maroto (Madrid, Spain) added three goals and seven assists, while Freshman Charles Bedosky (Kansas City, Mo.) had three goals and one assist.  The Vikings improved to 5-0 in NECC competition, and next up is a series against Bellevue (Neb.), on March 11 at 7 p.m.

Marvel Rivals competed in the NECC Division VI, and swept Colorado State in a best-of-five series, 3-0.  Sophomore Diogo Hansen (Bluemenau, Brazil) led with 33 eliminations, Senior Wyatt Nordean (Orange Park, Fla.) followed with 19 eliminations, and Junior Michael Wissman (Cole Camp, Mo.) had 11 eliminations.  The team improved to 5-0 on the season. Next up is a series with Arkansas State on March 10 at 8 p.m., with a win next week the team would lock up the No. 1 seed in the playoffs. 

All competitions take place inside the MVC Esports Arena.
