Esports Continues Season with Rocket League & Marvel Rivals Series
Marshall, Mo., (Feb. 27, 2026)- The Missouri Valley College Esports programs competed throughout the week. The Rocket League team split a pair of series, and the Marvel Rivals team earned a victory in its competition.
Marvel Rivals competed in the NECC Division VI, defeating Doane (Neb.) in a best-of-five series, 3-1. Freshman Brecken Jasper (Marshall, Mo.) led with 25k damage blocked in game two, while Senior Wyatt Nordean (Orange Park, Fla.) had 30 eliminations and Freshman Chase Schlossenberg (Kansas City, Mo.) added 29 assists in game three. The Vikings improved to 4-0 on the season. Next up is a series with Colorado State, Tuesday at 8 p.m.
In Rocket League, the varsity team lost to Missouri S&T in a best-of-seven series, by scores of 0-5, 3-1, 2-3, 3-2, 0-4, 2-4. Senior Dominic Hoskin (Witham, England) led with five goals and three assists, while Sophomore Quentin Revillard (Lyon, France) had two goals and five assists, and Junior Lucas Evans (Newcastle, England) added three goals. The team is now 3-1 on the season, and next up is a Heart match on Wednesday against Central Methodist (Mo.) at 6:30 p.m, followed by another Heart series with Culver-Stockton on March 5 at 7 p.m.
The Rocket League VR team swept Wisconsin-Eau Claire in a best-of-seven series, by scores of 2-0, 2-1, 2-0, 3-2. Freshman Charles Bedosky (Kansas City, Mo.) led with four goals, Schlossenberg totaled three goals and three assists, while Freshman Diego Maroto (Madrid, Spain) had two goals and four assists. The Vikings improved to 4-0 in NECC competition, and next up is a series against University of Alabama Huntsville, on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
All competitions take place inside the MVC Esports Arena.
