Bio

Kristen Revis has been dancing for 38 years growing up at Charmette Academy of Dance in St. Louis, Missouri. 23 of those years have been spent teaching, coaching, judging and consulting. She is a certified member (ballet and jazz) and former vice-president, secretary and Miss Dance and Performing Arts Competition chairperson of Dance Masters of America—Chapter #21 St. Louis Dancing Teachers Association and is also a certified dance team coach through MSHAA and USA Cheer. She has served as a guest teacher at dance studios throughout the region and is a judge for Dance Out, Kids Artistic Review Brands and Pinnacle National Talent Competitions and a former judge for Varsity Brands and Applause National Talent Competition. Kristen is also a member of the Missouri State Dance Team Association (MDTA) and the National Dance Coaches Association (NDCA).

 

Kristen currently teaches ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, acro and musical theater. At both the regional and national level, her students have won many high score awards, special awards, costume award, entertainment award, studio of the year, convention scholarships and she has received choreography awards at DanceOut, ADA and Starpower. Kristen is the proud teacher of multiple title holders and title finalists at both the regional and national level. In 2022 her hip hop line received 1st overall for top 10 for junior groups and 3rd overall for “The EDGE” award for 12 and under at EDGE National Finals in Branson, Missouri; In 2007 her musical theater number “Steam Heat” won second place at the Grand National Championships at Showbiz Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida. Many of her students have continued on in the world of dance at the collegiate dance team level and professionally in performance, teaching and coaching regionally and nationally.

 

She is the former Head Coach and Founder of the Lindenwood University Golden Line Dance Team and the former Head Assistant Coach at Whitfield and Marquette High School. Under her direction as the Head Assistant Varsity Dance Team Coach the Whitfield Schools Varsity Dance Team was named the 2015 1A Missouri State Dance Team Champions and 1A Academic Award recipients. Kristen was also the Head Assistant Varsity Dance Team Coach at Marquette High School, located in Chesterfield, Missouri. The team took first in their home routine at both NDA and UDA Summer Camps and she was the proud coach of several All-Star award winners. The team also took first at the Missouri State Dance Team Competition in 6A Kick and 2nd in 6A Pom and Prop. 

 

Kristen received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration-Marketing with an emphasis in secondary education and marketing (2006), her Master of Arts in Education Administration-Secondary Education (2010) and Specialist of Education in Instructional Leadership with a dual emphasis in Higher Education Administration and Andragogy in 2016, all from Lindenwood University. When she isn't dancing she loves spending time with her family and friends, especially her 5 nieces and nephew, and attending Cardinals games, sporting events, concerts, vacation, volunteering, reading and time at the lake! Kristen is thrilled to be able to share her passion for dance with the dance team at Missouri Valley! Go Vikings!
