Cheer Team Captures First Place at Park Invitational

Parkville, Mo., (Feb. 13, 2026)- The Missouri Valley College cheer team opened its NAIA competition season with the Park (Mo.) Cheer Invitational Friday evening.  The Vikings captured first place overall.

 

Missouri Valley earned a score of 91.2, but faced a 5.5-point deduction.  The final score for the Vikings was 85.7.  The team won the event by more than seven points over second place Avila (Mo.).

 

This is the first competition title for the team this season, and puts the Vikings into the top five of the overall NAIA standings with the 85.7 scoring average.

 

Up next, the Viking cheer team will compete at the Benedictine (Kan.) Classic, Sunday in Atchison, Kan.  Performance time is 1 p.m.
