Cheer and Dance Teams Compete at Baker Classic

Baldwin City, Kan., (Feb. 17, 2023)- The Missouri Valley College cheer and dance teams competed at the Baker (Kan.) Invitational, Saturday afternoon. The cheer team finished second in their event standings, and the dance team placed third in its competition.

 

In the cheer competition, teams only performed once, and Missouri Valley finished with a final score of 80.66 to take second place in the event. MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) won with a score of 87.37, and third place was Baker (Kan.), finishing with a final score of 73.47.

Baker Classic-Cheer:

  1. MidAmerica Nazarene- 87.37

  2. Missouri Valley College- 80.66

  3. Baker University- 73.47

  4. Ottawa University- 72.87

  5. Oklahoma Panhandle- 62.09

  6. Peru State- 60.17

  7. Graceland- 33.76

 

In the dance competition, teams only performed once, and Missouri Valley placed third overall, with a score of 61.50. Midland (Neb.) took first place with a final score of 87.30, and Baker (Kan.) finished second with a score of 86.73.

  1. Midland University- 87.20

  2. Baker University- 86.73

  3. Missouri Valley College- 61.50

  4. Ottawa University- 58.23

 

Up next, the competitive cheer and dance teams will compete at the Benedictine (Kan.) Challenge tomorrow, Feb. 18. The Vikings dance first performance is set to start at 12:20 p.m., and the Vikings cheer performance is at 2 p.m.
