Archery Team Competes at Collegiate 3D Nationals

Foley, Ala., (Oct. 4, 2025)-  The Missouri Valley College archery team competed at the USA Archery Collegiate 3D Nationals in Foley, Ala., over the weekend, going up against programs from across multiple collegiate divisions.

 

Competing in the men's compound division was Junior Carter Taylor (Bunceton, Mo.), finishing at No. 54 overall in the standings.  Taylor posted scores of 191 and 182 in his two rounds, totaling a 373 with three 12's recorded.  He also finished with a 9.325 arrow average.

 

Freshman Christina Zimmer (Kearney, Mo.) competed in the compound women's division, and finished at No. 42 overall, posting scores of 175 and 197 in the two rounds.  Zimmer totaled a 372 score with three 12's recorded and a 9.30 arrow average.

 

Two Vikings competed in the fix pin women's division.  Freshman Samantha Knudsen (Troy, Mo.) placed at No. 43 overall with a total of 337.  Knudsen had scores of 155 and 182 in the two rounds, with four 12's recorded and an 8.425 arrow average.  Also, Sophomore Brighid Groom (Higginsville, Mo.) placed at No. 64 with a total of 250.  Groom had scores of 129 and 121 in the two rounds with two 12's recorded and a 6.25 arrow average.

 

This was the first competition of the 2025-26 season for the Missouri Valley archery program.
