Bio

Lawyer Evans, Jr., made an impact at Missouri Valley College as a championship track and field athlete.  Evans, Jr., set program records, won conference championships and earned All-American honors during his time with the program.  Starting in his freshman season, Evans, Jr., won conference titles in the 200 meter and 400 meter dash events, along with the 4x100 meter relay.  He followed in 1997 with championships in the 100 meter, 200 meter, 4x100 meter relay and 4x400 meter relay teams.  Evans, Jr., also led the 4x100 meter relay team to a sixth place finish at the NAIA National Championship.  The success continued in 1998, when Evans, Jr., won titles in the 200 meter dash and the 4x100 meter relay, finishing the season as an All-American at the NAIA National Championship.  In his senior season, Evans, Jr., captured another conference title in teh 4x100 meter relay, and earned All-American honors in both the 4x100 meter relay and 200 meter dash.  Currently, Evans, Jr., holds two records for the track and field program.  His time of 10.5 in the outdoor 100 meter dash still stands as the top mark, set in 1997, as does the time of 40.52 in the 4x100 meter relay, set in 1999.
 
After attending Missouri Valley, Evans, Jr., joined the United States Air Force and spent more than 20 years serving before recently retiring.  During his time in the Air Force, Evans, Jr., reached the rank of Tech Sargent, E6.  He was stationed at numerous bases during his time serving, including Hawaii, Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, South Korea, Rammstein Air Force Base in Germany and in New Mexico. Recently, Lawyer, Jr., received a degree in logistics management.
