Men's Volleyball Selected as No. 4 Seed in NAIA National Tournament
Marshall, Mo., (April 21, 2026)- The Missouri Valley College men's volleyball team was selected as the No. 4 seed in the 2026 NAIA Men's Volleyball National Championship field, which was announced Tuesday morning.
The Viking men's volleyball team earned an automatic berth into the National tournament after finishing as runner-up in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Postseason Championship, falling to No. 1 Park (Mo.) in five games in Saturday's final. Missouri Valley enters the tournament with a 23-5 overall record.
This is the program's second-straight appearance, and third overall (2021), in the NAIA National tournament. Missouri Valley is 2-2 all-time in the National tournament, which includes advancing to the semifinal round, and finishing third overall at last year's National championship.
Missouri Valley is one of four teams from the Heart to earn a berth into the National tournament field. The Vikings are joined by No. 1 seed Park, No. 6 seed Mount Mercy (Iowa), and No. 10 seed William Penn (Iowa). Missouri Valley also played No. 8 seed Ottawa (Ariz.) and No. 12 seed Indiana Tech during the regular season, and finished with a 5-3 record against teams in the National tournament.
The Vikings are in Pool D, and will play two pool matches to determine which team advances to the National semifinal round. Joining Missouri Valley in the pool are No. 5 seed Campbellsville (Ky.) and No. 12 seed Indiana Tech. First pool play match is April 28 at 4 p.m., against Indiana Tech, with the second game April 30 at 4 p.m., against Campbellsville. The National tournament runs April 28-May 2 at Aliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
