Esports Marvel Rivals Secures Undefeated Record & Conference Championship

Marshall, Mo., (April 17, 2026)- The Missouri Valley College Esports Marvel Rivals team competed in the NECC Division VI Conference Tournament, securing an undefeated championship and berth into the National tournament.

Missouri Valley competed against New Mexico Tech in the NECC Division VI Conference Tournament, and finished with a 4-1 win in the best-of-seven series.  Senior Peyton Pinter (Leavenworth, Kan.) led with 36 eliminations in game three, while Sophomore Diogo Hansen (Bluemenau, Brazil) added 33,000 healing and Freshman Brecken Jasper (Marshall, Mo.) had 52,000 damage blocked, both in game five.

The win secured the Division VI championship, and an undefeated record for the team going into the National tournament.

The Viking Marvel Rivals team is the No. 1 seed in the upcoming NECC National Tournament, and the team will play No. 16 seed East Central (Okla.) in the first round.  The tournament begins Tuesday with an 8pm matchup, and Missouri Valley defeated East Central in the Division VI Conference Tournament, 3-1 in games, earlier this month.  The winner advances to Thursday's quarterfinal round.
