Men's Golf Student-Athlete Earns National Award From NAIA

Marshall, Mo., (April 15, 2026)- A Missouri Valley College men's golfer has earned a National award from the NAIA for his play at the Midwest National Spring Invite last week.

Freshman Joaquin Raminger (Buenos Aires, Argentina) has been named the NAIA Men's Golfer of the Week. He led the team to a first place overall finish at the Midwest National Spring Invite at Colbert Hills Golf Club in Manhattan, Kan.  Raminger finished with a three-round score of -10 (206) to win the tournament by three strokes.  He was the only player to go under-par in all three rounds, and finished with rounds of -2 (70), -3 (69), and -5 (67).

Raminger led the No. 15 Vikings to a team title, winning the tournament by 17 strokes and with a final score of even-par (864).

This is the first national award for Raminger in his career.  He was announced as the Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week on Monday.  Raminger becomes the third golfer in program-history to win the National award from the NAIA.  Felipe Suarez has won the National award twice this season, and Mateo Quigora won the National award twice during the 2022-23 season.

Up next, the men's program will compete at the CMU Reserve Tournament at Hail Ridge Golf Course in Boonville, Mo., April 16.  The Viking golf teams will also host the Missouri Valley Spring Invite, at Indian Foothills Golf Course, April 20-21.
