Men's Volleyball Stays in Coaches' Poll Top Five

Marshall, Mo., (April 15, 2026)- The Missouri Valley College men's volleyball team stayed in the top five of the latest NAIA Men's Volleyball Coaches' Top 15 Poll, released Wednesday.

 

The Viking men's volleyball team fell one spot from the previous coaches' poll, to the No. 5 ranking.  The team won both its contests during the latest ratings period.  Missouri Valley defeated Ottawa (Kan.) in five games, then topped Dordt (Iowa) in four games in the quarterfinal round of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Postseason Championship.

 

Missouri Valley is one five teams from the Heart ranked in the current coaches' poll.  Park (Mo.) moved up to No. 1, Mount Mercy (Iowa) went to No. 4, William Penn (Iowa) dropped to No. 10, and Grand View (Iowa) jumped up to No. 11.  Missouri Valley is 5-2 against ranked teams.  The wins have come over No. 4 Mount Mercy, No. 6 Ottawa (Ariz.), No. 10 William Penn, No. 11 Grand View and No. 12 Indiana Tech.  The two losses were against No. 1 Park.

 

The Vikings are 22-4 on the season, and will next be in action tonight (Wednesday) at 7 p.m., in the semifinal round of the Heart Postseason Championship.  Missouri Valley goes to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to play Mount Mercy.  Back on April 4, the Vikings picked up a road sweep of the Mustangs in their only regular season meeting.
