Esports Rocket League & Marvel Rivals Both Earn Victories
Marshall, Mo., (Feb. 6, 2026)- The Missouri Valley College Esports programs competed throughout the week. The Rocket League team split a pair of Heart of America Athletic Conference series, and the Marvel Rivals team earned a sweep.
In Rocket League, the Vikings swept Clarke (Iowa), in a best-of-five series. The team won by scores of 4-0, 9-1, and 5-4. Senior Dominic Hoskin (Witham, England) led with seven goals and six assists. Junior Lucas Evans (Newcastle, England) added six goals and three assists, and Sophomore Quentin Revillard (Lyon, France) had five goals and four assists. The team then fell to St. Ambrose (Iowa) in five games, by scores of 2-3, 5-1, 1-2, 2-1, 4-5. Hoskin totaled nine goals, four assists and eight saves in the series. The Vikings sit at 1-2 in the Heart standings.
Also in Rocket League, the team played twice in the NECC. The varsity team defeated Minnesota State in a best-of-seven series, by scores of 2-0, 3-2, 3-1, 0-5, 1-2, 1-2, 2-1. The VR Rocket League team swept past Texas A&M, by scores of 4-0, 3-1, 3-1, 4-0. Freshman Charles Bedosky (Kansas City, Mo.) led with six goals and two assists, while Freshman Chase Schlossenberg (Kansas City, Mo.) had three goals and three assists, with Freshman Diego Maroto (Madrid, Spain) adding three goals and one assist. The NECC Rocket League team improves to 1-0 on the season.
Marvel Rivals competed in the NECC Division VI, defeating East Central (Okla.) in a best-of-five series sweep. Sophomore Diogo Hansen (Bluemenau, Brazil) led with 28k healing in the opening game, while Freshman Brecken Jasper (Marshall, Mo.) added 84-percent accuracy in game two, and Junior Michael Wissman (Cole Camp, Mo.) totaled 60 assists in the third game to finish out the victory. The Rival Marvels team improves to 1-0.
Next week, the Rocket League team meets William Penn (Iowa) in a Heart series, Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Rocket League NECC team takes on Hesston (Kan.), Wednesday at 7 p.m. Also, the Marvel Rivals team competes against Concordia (Neb.), Tuesday at 8 p.m. All competitions take place inside the MVC Esports Arena.
