Women's Soccer Puts Eight on All-Conference Team Including Player of the Year

Marshall, Mo., (Nov. 5, 2025)- The No. 4 Missouri Valley College women's soccer team finished an undefeated regular season, and has put eight of its student-athletes on the 2025 Heart of America Athletic Conference All-Conference Team, including the conference Player of the Year.

 

Leading the selections is Senior Defender Marta Carrasco Mesa (Sevilla, Spain) who was named the Heart Defensive Player of the Year and the Heart Co-Player of the Year, earning both honors for the second-straight season.  During the regular season, Carrasco Mesa scored four goals and added a team-high six assists.  She anchored a Viking defense that gave up only 15 goals throughout the season.  Carrasco Mesa is the only player in program-history to earn the Heart Player of the Year and Heart Defensive Player of the Year honors.  Additionally, Carrasco Mesa was a first team all-conference selection for the second-straight season, and earned all-conference honors for the third time in her career.

 

Also named to the all-conference first team were Senior Defender Daijah White (Tucson, Ariz.), Senior Midfielder Judit Ferre (Barcelona, Spain) and Senior Forward Ashley Arribas (Lake Forest, Calif.).

 

Arribas is a four-time selection to the all-conference first team, and finished the season tied for the team-high with 11 goals and four game-winning goals to go with three assists.  Arribas is the program's all-time points leader, currently at 126 points in her career.

 

Ferre earned first team honors for the second-straight season, and was a third-straight all-conference selection, as a second team selection in 2023. Ferre tied for the team-high in goals, with 11, and added five assists to lead the team with 27 points. 

 

White was a second team choice in 2022 and finished the season with two goals and three assists playing from the defender position.  White helped a Viking back-line that gave up 15 goals and only 57 shots on goal through the regular season.

 

Four more Vikings were named to the all-conference second team.  Senior Goalkeeper Marina Barbara Bujalance (Cornella Llobregat, Spain), Defender Lucia Torres Vizcaino (Malaga, Spain), Senior Midfielder Carla Carmona (Barcelona, Spain) and Senior Forward Marlene Flores (Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia).

 

Barbara Bujalance is a first team selection for the second-straight season and finished with 20 saves and only eight goals allowed for a .073 goals against average.  Barbara Bujalance helped the team secure seven shutouts.

 

Torres Vizcaino is a first team selection for the second-straight season and added two assists playing from the defender position.  Torres Vizcaino helped the Vikings finish with a .088 goals against average on the season.

 

Carmona was named to the all-conference second team for the second-straight season and scored one goal to go with six assists putting 16 shots on goal.

 

Flores was a first team selection last season and totaled five shots and tied for the team-high with six assists, and added 42 shots.

 

The women's soccer team enters postseason play currently ranked No. 4 in the latest NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll, and finished with the program's first-ever undefeated regular season.  The Vikings are 13-0-4 overall and went 11-0-2 in the Heart.

 

Missouri Valley is the No. 2 seed in the Heart Postseason Championship, and will host No. 7 seed Missouri Baptist in a quarterfinal game tonight (Wednesday) at 7 p.m., inside Volney C. Ashford Stadium.  The Vikings won the regular season contest between the two teams, at home by a 3-0 score back on Oct. 28.
