Two Lifters Compete at National & Qualifying Events

On Saturday, October 11, MVC Lifting Sports had two student-athletes competing in opposite sides of the country. Early in the day, Delaney Welker competed in the USA Powerlifting Olympia Deadlift Championships in Las Vegas, NV as a part of the Olympia Bodybuilding Championships, the largest bodybuilding show in the world. Delaney went 3 for 3 on attempts, finishing with a PR 165 kg/ 363 lb Deadlift, and took 1st in Women's Equipped Teen Deadlift as well.

 

Then, in Milton, FL, Jaden Lambert competed at the USA Weightlifting 3P Weightlifting Fall Classic for qualification to the 2026 USA Weightlifting University Nationals, held on April 9-12 in Salt Lake City, UT as scheduled. Jaden's best Snatch was 95 kg/ 209 lbs, and Clean & Jerk was 125 kg/ 275 lbs for a 220 kg/ 484 lb total, exceeding his needed qualifying total by 40 kg/ 88 lbs. He also took 1st in the Men's 71 kg weight class.

 

Up next for the Viking Weightlifters will be the USA Weightlifting Missouri Valley WSO Championships held on October 18 in Columbia, MO.
