Powerlifters Produce Gold Medals, Runner-Up Finish at Student & University World Championships

Waltham, Mass., (May 12, 2025)- Two Missouri Valley College powerlifting student-athletes competed at the 2025 IDFPA Student and University World Championships in Waltham, Mass., over the weekend.  Both won gold medals, and produced a runner-up team finish.

 

Senior Audrey Schoch (San Antonio, Texas) competed in the women's collegiate Raw 90kg weight class.  Schoch finished with a 205kg in squat, an 80kg bench press and a 185kg deadlift to have a 470kg total to take first place in the weight class.  Schoch earned a gold medal in squat, and set a new Texas state record with the 205kg lift.  Schoch also earned a silver medal in deadlift and a bronze medal in bench press.

 

Junior Sarah Khamis (Vienna, Austria) competed in the women's collegiate Raw 60kg weight class, earning gold medals in all three lifts.  Khamis had a 142.5kg in squat, a 77.5kg in bench press and a 160kg deadlift to finish with a 380kg total.  Khamis set new personal records in squat and in total weight.

 

The pair of Schoch and Khamis combined to finish second overall in the women's university Raw team standings.  This was an invitation-only event based on top results from the USA Powerlifting Collegiate Nationals and as an international student within USA Powerlifting.  Schoch qualified after earning All-American honors at the Collegiate Nationals, and Khamis qualified by the results of Collegiate Nationals, and as an international student.
