No. 19 Women's Wrestling Completes Action at the Grand View Open
Des Moines, Iowa, (Feb. 3, 2024)- The No. 19 Missouri Valley College women's wrestling team continued its season, Saturday, at the Grand View (Iowa) Open. The Vikings competed against NCAA Division I, and II, along with NAIA programs. Leading the Vikings were Freshman Tylah Allen (Jonesboro, Ark.) who placed third at 170 pounds in the Silver Division and No. 12 Junior Hailey Holland (San Bernardino, Calif.) who finished fourth at 109 pounds in the Gold Division.
Silver Division:
Freshman Tylah Allen (Jonesboro, Ark.)- 170 pounds:
First Round: Lost to Unattached Chloe Mader in a first period pin.
Consolation First Round: Defeated Rachel Johnson of Snow (Utah) in a 10-6 decision.
Consolation Second Round: Defeated Jayla Jones of Quincy (III.) in a 4-1 decision.
Consolation Third Round: Defeated Grace Thompson of Carl Albert State (Okla.) in a first period (2:47) pin.
Consolation Semifinal: Defeated Rayleigh Fisher of Oklahoma City by forfeit.
3rd Place Match: Defeated Taylor Rickley of Hastings (Neb.) in a 12-0 technical fall.
Allen placed third at 170 pounds.
Gold Division:
No. 12 Junior Hailey Holland (San Bernardino, Calif.)- 109 pounds:
First Round: Received a bye.
Quarterfinal: Lost to Genesis Cejudo of Elite Accelerator Program (Colo.) in a 16-6 technical fall.
Consolation Second Round: Defeated No. 19 Emma Roberts of Wayland Baptist (Texas) in a 10-0 technical fall.
Consolation Third Round: Defeated No. 17 Anysley Fink of Ottawa (Kan.) in a 10-0 technical fall.
Consolation Semifinal: Defeated No. 10 Kylee Slyter of Baker (Kan.) in a 10-2 decision.

Holland placed fourth at 109 pounds.
